Phone won't turn on

I turned my phone off and back on because it was being very slow and not working correctly. When I went to turn it back on, it has been sitting with a black screen with the white apple logo on it for about 30 minutes and will not turn on. This phone is fairly new so how do I fix it? It has not been damaged in any way.
