quicktime player 2022

When double clicking to open the player, it opens up my "applications folder" and the icon is greyed out and I am unable to click on it/open it. Please advise. Please help

We see that you are presently unable to use QuickTime and are happy to offer some suggestions that may help.


If using on a Mac, can you right click or Control+click on the application and choose "Get Info" to confirm the version? Depending on your macOS version, you may need to update the software you're using. Visit About QuickTime 7 compatibility to learn more about those options.


If you are using QuickTime version 10 or later on a Mac, safe mode would be a good next step. See How to use safe mode on your Mac to learn how to perform this test and complete the additional steps listed in that article based on the results of said test.
