moving photos from recent to a folder

Organize and find your photos on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support has some great information regarding your albums. “The Recents album shows your entire collection in the order that you added them to your library. When you use iCloud Photos, the changes that you make to your albums on one device appear on your other devices too.”

This means that while you may see photos in the Recent’s album, they are contained within your Library as well. They’re shown in Recents for easy locating for you. If you’d like to organize your Library, you can create a new album and add photos to it using the article above.

Recent always shows all photos in your library - just ordered in the order they have been added.

Bear in mind they are not a separate copy of the image, just a different view of the same images in the library.
