Open additional window of an open Folder in the current Desktop Space

When I'm working on an application in a particular Space I often need to drag and drop documents in a folder that's open in another Desktop Space.

I usually keep current project folders on the desktop (sorted by Date Modified) for quick access, and when I open a folder that's not already open it will open in the current Space. But if the folder is already open in another Space, the Finder switches to the Space where the open folder is located.

Then I have to either close the folder, quick switch (cmd-tab) back to the application space and double-click the folder on the desktop again to open it in the Space where I want it. Or I could show all the Desktop Spaces and drag the folder to the app Space.

I would REALLY like to open another window of the folder contents in the application Space, so it's contents are available in multiple Spaces.

Is there any way to quickly open a desktop folder in the current Desktop Space if it's already open in another Space?

Hi FenBat,

We understand you have a question about spaces on Mac. As noted in the following guide "By default, when switching to an app, the desktop automatically switches to a space that has open windows for the app. For example, if you create a new TextEdit document in Desktop 3, but TextEdit windows are already open in Desktop 2, your new document opens in Desktop 2. To change this setting, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Mission Control , then deselect the checkbox for switching.":

Hope this helps!

Have a great day.
