Some keys not working on MacBook pro

Hello, my t,y,u,i,o, keys don't work on my Mid 2012 13 inch MacBook Pro.

I have tried the following solutions:

cleaned underneath the keys, in case dust or anything else was preventing them for working
reset SMC and NVRAM/PVRAM
Made sure mouse keys and slow keys is off
updated to latest compatible macOS which for me is catalina
Factory reset my MacBook

And they are still not working. I am not sure what else I can try so I was hoping to get some suggestions. Also my battery design capacity is at 40%, I am not sure if that can be a reason why.

That could be part of it. If you have any internal inflating of the battery which a service tech could tell, you may be in need of a replacement topcase and battery.

Bring it in to a service tech. They can examine the cleanliness of the keyboard, and see if there is any moisture that could have shorted the keys.

Thank you so much for the response. I just had a look at the battery, and it doesn’t seem like there is any inflating going on. Do you have any other ideas as to what the issue could be?
