Cannot edit shapes in pages using make editable

Hello everyone,

In pages once I added a shape, I am not able to edit it using edit. -> make editable, it shows greyed out and can't select.

Can someone explain why is this so and how to solve it ?

Not possible to create image of a shape in Pages Well, the title is a bit confusing but I'll explain my problem. I created some shapes in Pages and now I want to make an image out of them. Usually it was possible to use Preview for this. I copied the shape and choose "New from clipboard" in Preview. Preview is creating an image with the content of the shape. Up to here: fine. But now the big problem: For a while this function is not working at all! "New from clipboard" is just greyed out... If I group two shapes before it works ... but why? I want one shape and not two! Anyone an idea what to do? That would be very kind! Best regards, garrett550

problem with pages I want to place an shape closer to text. when I move it closer the text moves. what do I do so I can place a shape anywhere around the text and the text won't move at all?

The shape must be selected before you attempt to make it editable.
