Distort music

Well... Maybe a bit a weird Question.

But I would like to distort my music in Final Cut Pro. So overdrive. That means that the music is so loud and overdriven afterwards. That's what they like to use for memes or something. Hope someone can help me: :)

Check the Effects Browser > Audio (scroll way down the list) > Distortion > Mac OS | AUDistortion. If you have Logic installed, there should be several other Distortion effects in there as well.

I think it would be best to do this inside your digital audio workstation (Logic or ProTools) but it's my understanding FCP supports Audio Unit (AU) plugins so you could try a free distortion plugin to see if it does what you want. Here's a list of free distortion plugins. https://thehomerecordings.com/best-16-free-distortion-vst-plugins/ Caveat: I've never used any of them so they might not work well or at all in FCP or be what you're looking for.
