Numbers appears to need some TLC?

My problem is similar to:

paste formula results - Apple Community

In my case I am using MacBook Pro M1 2020 running Monterey 12.2 and Numbers version 11.2 (7032.0.145)

The ScreenShot below shows Paste Formula Results, with the Results selected/copied, note that this was NOT because of any 'mapping' activity on anybodies part:

Clicking on Paste Formula Results, or using the ShortCut seemed functional but the Formula failed because the Cell concerned remained a 'string' rather than being converted into a Number.

Typing in the appropriate Number enabled the Formula to function as expected, this was tested on a few Cells in the Column with similar outcome.

After Copying a Column, of Formula generated Results the entire Column was emptied and then both of the actions mentioned above were used to Paste Formula Results. Sadly while these efforts replaced the original Numerals they were still not satisfactory to achieve the desired outcome.

Disappointingly Help and Search using the in-App and On-Line systems failed to reveal any information regarding Paste Formula Results. From experience, many years previously I was sure the feature existed, because I needed to complete the task ALL the required input was typed in. From this I learned that it is really not a sensible option when you are in a hurry, I made many 'typos'. This App failure seems to be repeatablle.

Hoping that a similar task does not need my attention until this is sorted.

If the formula results were string values, pasting the formula results should paste string values. That seems logical. You can format the cells after that to turn numeric string values into actual numbers (format the cells as numbers and the strings that are numeric will turn into actual numbers). Or you can rewrite the formulas so the results are actual numbers, not strings. Often all it takes is multiplying the string by 1 within the formula.
