Clicking Finder always display first tab rather than the working tab

I prefer opening folders as tabs in Finder. After updating to Monterey OS, whenever I click the finder icon, it displays the first tab instead of the working tab.

For example, if I have 5 tabs in Finder and am working in the folder of 3rd tab. After using other apps, when I click the finder icon to come back, it always displays the first tab rather than the 3rd tab. It is kind of annoying.

This doesn't happen when I use cmd+tab. But the issue occurs whenever I click the Finder icon to go into the opened folders.

Is it an issue with Monterey update?

Any solution to solve this?

I also cannot reproduce it.

In addition to updating to 12.2, you may also try deleting Finder preferences. It may not help, but couldn't hurt.

In Finder, press Command-Shift-G and paste

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

drag the file out of the Preferences folder, and restart the Finder by either force-quitting it or just logging out back in.

See if this has any effect on the problem.

And, FWIW, command-tab is so much more convenient...
