Facetime only option invite with SMS text message

When upgraded to a new iphone and 15.3 Facetime is not functioning as before.

Instead of being able to direct call or video I now have to sent a link or text.

The call option buttons are not showing in the screen. (see picture)

The recipient has the same phone and ios and we used Facetime for years without problems.

I did a search but it seems I am the only one. Not tech savvy so it may well be wrong doing from my side.

Would be grateful for tips how to use Facetime as before.

How it works now is much too cumbersome and will force me to look for another video calling app.

Much obliged,

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15

Since you have chosen an Android number it is not giving you the option to Audio or Video Option. See the pic below

Note: You can invite anyone to join you in a FaceTime call, even people who don’t have an Apple device. They can join you in one-on-one and Group FaceTime calls from their browser—no login is necessary. (They need the latest version of either Chrome or Edge. Sending video requires H.264 video encoding support.)
