Airplay passcode not correct

Hi

I want to setup an airplay connexion with my new Sony smart TV (XR-65X90J last updated version PKG6.4285.0522EUA) on my MacBook Pro (mid-2014 / macOs Big Sur 11.6.2).

So I ask for airplay connexion: my TV set displays a passcode and a popup window is displayed on my MacBook to enter this passcode. So far So good. However, whenever I enter the passcode displayed on my TV set, I received a stupid message: incorrect passcode. I changed to a password but I got the same result: incorrect password. Is this a well-known bug?

What can be done to fix it up ?

Regards

Sylvain

Hello Sfes37,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you are unable to connect to your Smart TV because the AirPlay code isn't working.

If you haven't already, try restarting your Smart TV, MacBook Pro and router.

If you have a VPN installed on your MacBook Pro, try disabling it to see if that resolves the issue.

If the issue continues after those steps, we recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly for a closer look: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care.
