15.2.1 new annoying undocked square keyboard

I use an attached keyboard, and the previous iOS on screen keyboard, and auto suggest, worked flawlessly. It was docked in that lower bar, where the key and credit card icons are. Inside that same bar static bar, it would offer you suggestions, and it was quick and functional!!!! It automatically hid, but you could slide on up, and that bar appeared. Maybe I’m a little off on that part, but close.

Now they undocked the keyboard icon, and have a REALLY annoying, and frustrating floating square! It hides the auto suggestion functionality unless you click on the square. First it’s an extra step in the process! Then you have an annoying pop up hovering over your data, and then have to close it again, because it blocks your view.. Another step in the process. Plus you have to slide that square left and right, to see your work.

Don't really understand their logic???? It worked perfect, and it appeared on the update to iOS 15.2.1. How do I set the functionality back to original? I’ve seen suggestions of turn off shortcuts, or this or that… Wrong.

To easily return the new Floating Keyboard to the normal on-screen keyboard presentation, use the two-finger “zoom” gesture (i.e., the reverse of the two-finger “pinch”).

If the Split Keyboard is restored instead of the full on-screen keyboard, you can either use two fingers (one on each of the two half-keyboards) and swipe the two halves together - or touch-and-hold the “keyboard” key, then slide your finger to the Merge & Dock option and release.

There. Maybe that will help describe the problem better. It will stay visible unless you swipe down, but the minute you start typing it’ll pop back up again. Your text gets hidden behind that. I just realized it’s not even formatting correctly either. Previously that bar with the icons, which had the auto suggest inline, would also be blow everything, and just push that text input up a little.
