IPad Pro - writing to a Compact Flash

I need to update the software on a Compact Flash and SD card that run my Multi-Function Displays on my boat. As an all Apple device guy, I am trying to do this using my iPad Pro. I see ways to read my cards but not to write a new file to them.

Do I have to go back and get a Windows laptop!

iPad Pro, iPadOS 15

Depends on what exactly you need to do and how the CF card is formatted. If you just need to copy a file onto the card and the card if formatted as fat32 or exFat you can copy a file onto the card in the Files App on the iPad by dragging it onto it, or using the Move or copy options.

If its formatted in some other way, the iPad may be able to read it, but not write to it.
