I see a message that says my screen is being observed at the top of the screen US

if you don't want to be observed, turn off screen sharing here:
System preferences > sharing > Screen sharing ...
if your computer is controlled by an institution or company, you may not be able to disable these settings -- in that case, talk to your IT department for additional information.
