Can't sync single Music playlist to iPhone

Hi there

I use a designated playlist to sync music to my iPhone 13 Pro. This playlist contains 14.81GB of music (see picture Music_1).

When I dock my iPhone to my iMac it should automatically sync, which it obviously does not, but tells me the Audio portion synced to my phone is 294.96GB (see picture Music_2).

As shown on picture Music_3 I have selected the option to only include "selected artists, albums, genres and playlists".

Picture Music_4 shows the only item I have selected to be synced, being aforementioned playlist containing 14.81GB of audio. Not 294.96GB (my library contains 393.65GB of audio in total. so not even its not the whole library being synced but some random audio) .

If I return to the tap general in Music and select "Manually manage music, movies and TV shows" and then click on "Sync", the pop-up window in picture Music_5 appears. I am absolutely baffled as to why trying to sync the desired audio to my iPhone should have any connection with the sync of Photos (which is turned off anyway.).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there

I don't know if the wrong warning message is being issued. Could be. I am dreading to find out what happens when I click "Remove and Sync". Simply because if this is the wrong message being issued, what'll happen if I click it? Will all the photos in my iPhone be gone for example?

Regarding your questions:

  • Have you double checked the settings on the Photos tab? -> Yes. "Sync photos to your device from..." is turned off.
  • Do you have and photos on the device that were synced to it from a different computer and that you don't now have? -> No. There shouldn't be any syncing happening from my iMac to my iPhone as per the settings chosen. And it's the only Mac I use in connection with the iPhone.

In principle your camera roll, the photos you've taken with the phone, should be untouched, but you really should have copied the contents into your computer by now. If necessary use Photos, for example, to import all new images from the phone while leaving them on it.
