Why does my iPad air (4th gen) not connect to 5G?

PS:My carrier plan has 5G in it.

Because the iPad Air 4 does not support 5G cellular. Its cellular chip is only for 4G/LTE.

The support document you posted from lists the iPads hat support 5G. The iPad Air 4 is not there.
