Startup sound distorted iMac 27" 2019

I've seen a thread but didn't see result so I'm starting one. Since updating to Big Sir I believe it was, my startup sound is distorted. It's fine on my MacBook Pro. I'm running Monterey 12.2 and with each update I hope this is fixed but it's not.

I've done the NVRAM reset, done the unplug as well. Also I did the option to turn off startup sound (which it does), reboot, and turn back on.

Nothing is working. Audio is fine and crystal clear in all apps, videos and sounds. It's only the startup sound that does this. It's as though the startup audio sample was recorded way too hot and distorted. Very annoying and wish someone could give the fix.
