timer utility screen goes dark

On my old iPhone 6s, when I use the utility timer, the screen remains active while the timer is running. But in my new iPhone 13, the screen goes dark after 1 minute. As near as I can tell, all the Settings are the same. How can I enable the timer to stay visible?

I never owned a 6s, but, to my knowledge the timer is tied to the auto-lock setting option, in Settings>Display & Brghtness>AutoLock.

In order to see the remaining time, you can just touch your screen, and that info appears under date and time, even in lock screen, without needing to re-open the timer.
