Do not disturb mode

Hello!

There is a malfunction at do not disturb mode!

I use iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 15.0!

What I mean is that my phone allows every incoming call from every person while it is at the d.disturb mode

The first time that someone calls me , the phone rejects it , but with the second immediate call my phone rings

Also it rings while I am using it and I have don’t disturb mode ON!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a software error and it must be fixed !!!!!!!!!!

You do not understand. The phone is put into DND mode. No allowed notifications at all. If some idiot calls at 3:00am the phone will NOT let that call through BUT if that idiot calls right back then the phone rings. AND if that idiot or some other idiot calls before the phone can lock THE PHONE RINGS. If the phone "wakes up or unlocks" due to the idiot's first call then how do we completely lock the phone? Get it?

I worked it out! My phone was doing the exact same thing but go on Focus - Do Not Disturb - Allowed Notifications People (mine was set to none but when I clicked it, it said Also Allow - calls from favourites and allow repeated calls)

its so hidden but once I turned it off it worked after losing so many hours of sleep (and I’m a shift worker so that really annoys me)

I had this problem. You can try to put it on driving mode, but the only drawback is that when you go to unlock your screen you have to take it out of driving mode and then put it back on. I have talked to customer support about this and how it is inconvenient. They suggested I submit my feedback to Apple at the website below.

I felt horrible reading this whole thread just now and knowing it was that second layer of DND that was causing it. I am the admin of iPhone tricks on FB…215,000 members…pop in and I could have solved this for you in 3 seconds. I actually believe that the first response you got solved it, but you didn’t read it deep enough.

Hi can you please help me

i had the focus app set to down time before it’s sleep time and I wasn’t ready to down time yet so I put the settings off but On whatsapp it still didn’t allow video calls and still said “missed call while on do not disturb “ but my dnd was off and so was the focus and bed time all off . Till now there is a line across my microphone and vid camera, yet I putt all functions off and restarted my phone several times.

Just chiming in. I have DND no exceptions on. It’s not working! It’s supposed to be on when my meditation app is open. I’m listening to sleep sounds and trying to take a nap. Then I get these jarring phone calls. Why? Again, no exceptions. DND is supposed to be on when the app is open.

Instructions are for iOS 16. There are variations for older versions.

Go to Settings/Focus/Do Not Disturb.

  • Tap Set a Schedule
  • Tap Add Schedule
  • Enter the time on and time off, and days it should be used
  • You can add more than one schedule, either for a different time range or time ranges that are different on different days
  • Tap Allow Notifications
  • Tap Allow Notifications From
  • Do not select any people
  • This essentially enables “Allow Notifications From NO ONE” because no one is listed
  • Tap Apps
  • Tap Allow Notifications From
  • Do not add any apps
  • Tap Allow Calls From and choose either a group of contacts or Favorites
  • Put the people you want to be able to call you in Favorites (Settings/Phone)
  • Turn off Allow Repeated Calls

If you don’t want all Favorites to be able to call you, go to the Contacts app, tap Lists, Add List, and add a list such as VIP. Go back to All Contacts. Tap on each contact you want to be able to call you and add it to VIP. Then go back to Focus/DND and choose VIP.

For earlier versions there is a VIP category already that you can choose for who can call you.

There are other parameters you can set also that you can explore when you have time.

Thank you for your reply.

I have seen you many people suffering from the same problem. I will contact technical support and tell them this. I want to ask you to update your device to the latest version, iOS 15.3, which may solve this problem. You can also take a look at this video:
