Signing in with Apple ID

Hi,

As you know, we can sign into many apps/games with our Apple ID, which simplifies the sign-in process significantly.

The only problem I have with this is that my full name is displayed in the app, when I sign in with my Apple ID. I cannot change it to a custom (in-app) name or nickname.

This is actually a significant problem, as I do not wish my full name displayed.

Is there a solution to this (i.e. the option to use a nickname when signing in with Apple ID)?

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about the name that is displayed in your apps after signing in with your Apple ID.

If you signing into those apps using Game Center, you can use the steps from this article to set up a nickname: Use Game Center to play with friends

If you are signing into a website or app using the Sign In with Apple feature, you should have the option to adjust your name when setting that up: How to use Sign in with Apple

If you need to make any adjustments to your account following the initial sign up process, you’d want to work directly with the app or website developer. They’d be in the best position to assist further.

Thanks a lot for the information.

I (now) understand that I indeed have the option to adjust my name when signing in with my Apple ID. I will keep this in mind in future Apple ID sign-ins.

Is there any way to change the name if we have already signed in with Apple ID?
