iPhone Remotely hacked, cloned

Say whatever you want, this has happened. I just got done cleaning a computer virus off my computer that had been wiped and inspected by two years. But I saw it, I believed it, I fixed it last night. Keep in mind, I’m a 50 year old with NO IT knowledge. I just kept reading.

I am telling you right now, my iPhone SIM card has been remotely split and someone is on here with me. We go back and forth day by day so I have to keep up with the passwords. I found the tracking for the split but NOBODY believes me because it can’t be done. I’ll record this myself and take the $1million but I’m not an IT person. It’s a new phone, new phone number (but stupid tech added my old number as a backup contact). And new SIM card (2) now. I’m cyber stalked.

we are at the endgame I hope. Now my identity has been stolen and all my credit cards compromised. Whoever has been playing the slow game for years is speeding things up. I can’t even trust that I’m talking to Lifelock.

what do I do???? Everyone laughs at me at every Verizon store I go to. I don’t need to be the smartest person in the room, I just want my life back.

You can't remotely split a SIM. Hacking directly into an iOS device is nearly impossible. Where it is, it requires very expensive state sponsored software to achieve. Are you a military attaché? A high ranking government official? A journalist living in a dictatorship? If not, then you aren't a target.

Your phone wasn't hacked. It's far more likely your Apple ID was. Someone found out, knew, or guessed your ID and password. Once logged in as you on their iPhone, iPad or Mac, they can see everything you do. Contacts, emails, messages, etc.

You're lucky they didn't change your account password, or you would have been locked out of your own account. Go to:

https://www.icloud.com

Login to your account. Click the Account Settings link. Under the My Devices heading, do you see any that don't belong to you? If so, that's who's in your account who shouldn't be. Click on it. A question is presented asking if you lost, sold or gave away the device. Put it into Lost Mode (activation lock) and then remotely erase it.. That person's device will become a permanently unusable brick. Serves them right. Leave it in your account since deleting the device entry will remove the lock.

Immediately change your password again. Make sure it's something difficult to guess. Make sure 2 Factor ID is on. Assume this person knows your current 2FA answers and change all of them.

None of what you describe is possible, with the exception of your Apple ID being compromised, and even that is impossible if it has a strong password and 2 factor authentication.

SIM cards cannot be “split”. It is impossible. A SIM card can be switched physically to another phone, and a criminal can do something called a “SIM Swap”, which cancels your SIM and creates a new one for the criminal. But if that happens your SIM will stop working. And the only benefit to the criminal is they can use your phone number for calls and texts, but if the do you won’t see any of the texts, and you won’t be able to send or receive texts or make calls. AND it requires someone on the “inside” at the carrier who is either a criminal themselves or was bribed to do it.

I’m sorry your identity was stolen, but that has nothing to do with your iPhone. Anyone’s identity can be stolen, even if they don’t have an iPhone (or any cell phone, for that matter).

None of us here will laugh at you, but your real problems have nothing to do with your iPhone.
