Library Folder doesn't work with Go To Folder

I'm trying to track down a specific folder to use a mod downloader, but for some reason, the Go To Folder function gets stuck whenever it tries to go through the Library folder under my account, and I assume that that's why the mod downloader won't work correctly either.

I type in "~/Users/gingerthesir/Library/Application Support/Terraria/ModLoader" and no matter what I type after that, I always get dropped into my account rather than where I'm trying to go. I can see the Library folder, I can open the Library folder, and I can track all the way to the ModLoader folder I'm looking for, but for some reason, my laptop cannot follow that path without getting stuck in my account.

I've checked to make sure I'm spelling Library right when I type it into the Go To Folder bar, and I'm certain I am.

Any idea of why my laptop can't use the Library folder on it's own accord?
