FaceTime calls received but can’t make but even then it doesn’t go through with only one contact

So I’ve been having this issue for a few months now but I haven’t been able to find a fix, it only happens with one specific contact but whenever I call them they tell me they don’t get anything, but when they call me I get it but when I accept it’s just a black screen for a moment and then the call fails, it only happens with them and I’m not entirely sure what to do, they don’t have me blocked because I can make regular cell phone calls to them and we’re both on recent versions of iOS, any help is appreciated

Are you able to FaceTime anyone else? I would try signing out of iMessage and FaceTime, power the phone off and back on again, then sign back into iMessage and FaceTime. Make sure that you have your phone number set as Send & Receive, along with your Apple ID, then test again.

So, let me make sure I got this correctly. You are able to make and receive FaceTime calls from others successfully, however with this one contact, you cannot make them, but it does not work. And if they attempt to make one to you it doesn't work. Am I correct? If so, your friend needs to check their device.

So basically yes, I receive their call but when I accept it the connection doesn't go through and they say that it just kept ringing, I got them to check if they somehow blocked my number but it's not, they can make facetime calls to everyone else as well just it doesn't work when we try to facetime each other.
