Wifi on Mac Mini M1

¿Does anyone have my same problem?

Wifi on my new m1 Mac Mini es really bad (unacceptable), I have the Mini right next to a Thinkpad from work and the last can reach sky high speed with the same router (Eero Pro), while the Mac Mini barely have a stable connection; I have to go to sethings everytime turn on an of the Wifi and sometimes, depending on his mood, will conect at decepnt speed. I use to have a iMac (Intel), conected in the exact same spot as the Mini and never had any issues.

High Speed USB cables and devices including displays can cause both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interference.

In addition the Mac Mini's design is a contributing factor to this issue. The wireless card is in the rear of the unit and the antenna is built into the bottom cover.

Here are a few things that may help you over come this problem.

  1. Move all USB cables and devices out from in-between the Mac Mini and Router.
  2. Turn the Mac Mini on it's side with the bottom facing the Router.
  3. Move the Mac Mini closer to the Router or use Ethernet.

I have a Eero Pro too and it seems to act up with my MacOS too. I’ve created its own profile in the Eero App because it seems to get stuck if I have any filters being used with it. You might want to try and use the guest connection with one of them just to separate them from interacting on the network if you can use a cloud based connection over the internet instead. Hope it helps
