I deleted email account. Tried to add it back and it says account already exists.

If the account already exists, then you can re-enter the information for the account to sign back into it. If you'd like to completely remove it, so that you can add it back as a new account; follow the steps here to remove the account: Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac
Afterwards, you should be able to add the account back without issue.
