Hello,
I am trying to sign into icloud for Windows, and it is stuck on this verification screen:
Things I have already tried:
Downloading the latest version of icloud (I already had it).
Closing out of everything and then opening it back up and trying again.
Restarting my laptop and trying again.
Each time, it just stays on the above screen indefinitely. Please help.

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities! From our understanding, iCloud for Windows becomes unresponsive after entering the verification code, is that right? You've done some awesome troubleshooting so far. Have you tested this on a different network?
Do you have any security software enabled on your PC? It's possible that the connection is being blocked. Check out: Resolve issues between iCloud for Windows or iTunes and third-party security software.

My issue was resolved by simply waiting 24 hours and trying again. Maybe yours will spontaneously resolve as well.
I am having a similar experience this morning (8Feb22). I am trying to install iCloud on my Win PC and once i've input the verification code the PC thinks for a while and then gives the error message "An error occurred during authentication. Please try again". I have tried again several times, there is no issue with my internet or wifi access, there aren't any system issues showing on the Apple site. And the Apple info about security software blocking connection isn't helpful to my level of technicality.
