How to work around the OVERSIZED trackpad on Apple MacBook Pro 2021?

Given that it's impossible to type on the MacBook Pro 2021 without hitting the MASSIVE OVERSIZED TRACKPAD, what are people doing to work around it?

I was thinking about getting an external Apple Magic Trackpad 2 and disabling the built in trackpad, so I could actually use my laptop.

Have people come up with other solution to work around this huge design flaw?

You can try "masking" the large area down to a much smaller exposed area with paper or thin plastic. Just be aware the gap between keyboard and display is VERY thin and thick items in that space when system is closed can cause screen cracks. The entire trackpad is clickable as well as senses movement, unlike older trackpads (which are still very good) that only have a click on bottom corners.

Dear _______, this is a laptop - not a full sized keyboard.

With a laptop you use the palms of your hands to stabilize the movement of the laptop.

See sentence #1 for reference.

If you can't tell the difference between a laptop and a full sized keyboard (as is apparent in your reply) then I really can't help you and your comments will be filtered straight to /dev/null.
