Quick Note brings up the Notes App in its entirety

How are you calling up Quick Notes?

I use Hot Corners and in Notes Preferences I can either have a new, blank not appear or the used Quick Note.

I just tried it and the first time the last not appeared with the whole Notes right behind. But subsequent call up only resulted in the last Note coming up.

In you case does ether a blank Note or last Note come up?

Try booting to Safe Mode. That boot up takes minutes and clears caches and other things that may resolve your problem.

A lot of times just boot to Safe Mode followed by normal boot resolves problems.

FWIW, if you close the Notes window before you quit Notes it will not be visible the next time you open Notes. Until you press ⌘0 or choose Notes from the Window menu. Clicking the Quick Notes Hot Corner opens Notes in my Monterey installs.

I haven't seen the marketing materials you refer to. In any case, early on I let you know it wasn't just you and suggested you send Apple feedback about the issue.

Quick Notes works as intended for me ie not the whole Notes app opens, just the actual Quick Note. To access other quick notes or make a new one, I use Command 0 which opens Notes app in its entirety.

That's not what happens in my four installs of Monterey. As soon as I click the Quick Notes corner, Notes is launched. You can see it in Activity Monitor.

As I said in a previous post, if you close the Notes window before you quit Notes you won't see the Notes window. As you can see in your screen shot Notes is open and is listed in the menu bar. Also the indicator will show under the Notes app in the Dock.

edit: last but not least, command 0 won't do anything unless Notes is open.

Of course you are right about that. But the whole point of this discussion was whether opening a quick note should open all the notes ie showing the sidebar etc. And it shouldn't. It should just open the quick note, as in the first image I posted. And that's what the OP was querying.
