Problem during the change of home folder name

Hello guys,

I attempted to change the name of my Home folder and the associated user account

I followed this guide. My account name changed and I renamed the home folder to the same name as my user account name. I created another user accout to doing that.

When I logged back to my original user account I fount two home folders. The one supposed to be renamed has not renamed and stayed as the assigned home folder and the system created another folder under /users with the name I was using to rename the original home folder.

So basically I got one user account now with two Home folders but the one I wish to use is not recognised as system folder and can be deleted, however the the one supposed to be renamed is still there with original name.

Also when I logged back I lost all my configurations

I hope my explanation clear. Can anybody suggest a solution?
