I am consistently seeing ‘chart unavailable’ for my workouts because my watch is never reading my heartrate. It’s constantly ‘thinking’ and greyed out. I’ve tried everything and I feel like I’m not getting accurate credit for my workouts. Anyone know why???
Apple Watch Series 6, watchOS 8
On your iPhone, go to Settings/Privacy/Motion & Fitness and check that both Fitness Tracking and Health are On.
Open your iPhone’s Watch app and go to Workout and make sure that Workout Power Saving Mode is Off.
Next, go to Privacy and check that both Heart Rate and Fitness Tracking are both On.
Finally, go to Passcode and check that Wrist Detection is On.
If any of these settings are incorrect, they will prevent your watch from reading your heart rate during a workout. Set them correctly, and test your watch again.

Thank you - I’ve checked all of these previously and they are all set to what you have above. All of my settings are correct and this is a Series 6 - so not an old watch! I should clarify, it’s not 100% of the time - but the majority of the time my HR cannot be detected. I don’t know what to do.
