Finder icon view doesn't show image thumbnail

Well, I actually HAD this problem and found a solution that instantly worked for me. As it was not possible to reply to previous threads I will "Ask a new question" and provide the answer :-)


MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 12.1

I found a solution that worked for me:

  • Open Activity Monitor
  • Search for a process called "com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent"
  • Forced quit that process
  • Relaunch the Finder (right click Finder, click "Relaunch"


Almost instantly my icon view showed thumbnails. :-)
