Netflix issue on Apple TV 3

my apple tv 3 (model A1469) will not let me login to my netflix. I contacted netflix and I am using the correct login. They say I should delete and reinstall the app on my TV. I cant delete on a 3rd generation. Is there another way to resolve this?

Try updating your account name (email address) with Netflix. It can be changed to the exact same address. Then try again on Apple TV.
