2015 MacBook Air fan noise since OSX 12.2 update

Since the OSX 12.2 update I get random full blast fan working- this happens when no tasks running and all apps closed .

I have another 2015 Air/ same model which also does this

Perhaps to investigate the matter by use of Activity Monitor (utility)

there may be some items running in background. Maybe unnecessary

use of 'scanning antivirus' that won't find anything? ~ That'd do it.

You could also try Startup in Safe mode; that may help. Or won't hurt.

• Activity Monitor User Guide ( Table of Contents ) - Apple Support

https://support.apple.com/guide/activity-monitor/toc

You can force-quit items within the Activity Monitor, or from the Finder.

Another consideration may be to get 'free-trial' Malwarebytes for Mac

from its maker's site: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac-download

This innovation was created by a mac-user contributor here in ASC.

To look in and find other items, or just see what's going on in Mac

another useful tool also created by ASC contributor, is EtreCheck.

EtreCheck Pro - https://etrecheck.com/

This is free version; can make a report; has features to help remove bad stuff.

Helpful with this, are instructions on 'how to post its Report' to ASC.

There usually is something behind whatever irks the macOS.

Sometimes it's due to some unnecessary mackeeper or antivirus.

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

  1. Shut down your Mac.
  2. On your built-in keyboard, press and hold all of these keys:
    • Shift  on the left side of your keyboard
    • Control  on the left side of your keyboard
    • Option (Alt)  on the left side of your keyboard
  1. While holding all three keys, press and hold the power button as well.

  2. Keep holding all four keys for 10 seconds.
  3. Release all keys, then press the power button to turn on your Mac.
