Does anyone know how to use any iPhone invisible widget apps on an iPad?

Dear iPhone Users,

Can anyone help me find an iPhone invisible widget app that also has an iPad App Store edition that works in both portrait and landscape view?

I am turning to all iPhone community members for help - where invisible widget use is far more prevalent on small screen devices - in the hope that a few of you might also own such widget modified iPads too.

I would also be very obliged if anyone could pass on any knowledge on how to get the following apps set out below to work on an iPad running the latest iPadOS 15 software.

The current iPadOS 15 operating system released in September 2021 threw previous carefully crafted and cherished iPadOS 14 Home Screens into disarray when it severely narrowed and restricted gaps between icons and introduced a new 6x5 30-icon grid pattern.

The Screenshots below highlight the massive before and after difference between the present and previous operating systems. On an iPad Air 2, there are 12mm horizontal gaps between icons in the iPadOS 14 Home Screens. On the same iPad Air 2, the horizontal gaps are now tightly compacted to just 4mm in iPadOS 15.

At present I have been using an on-screen widget photo app as an icon herder to re-inflate the gaps between icons in iPadOS15 back up to their former 12mm spacing and to round-up and lock my wayward icons back into the exact order I had them in under the old iPadOS 14 5x4 20-icon grid pattern regime. The screenshots below depict the transformation that can be achieved.

While this workaround performs perfectly and has brought my old iPad back to me (minus a small patch of screen estate), it can’t be replicated easily as each invisible widget has to be individually photographed and then cropped by hand precisely.

Unlike the automated iPhone invisible widget apps, my method is almost a bespoke process. While I have helped many family members and friends get their iPads back into the shape they like with their own personal wallpaper, it has all become a bit of of a chore.

Locating an invisible widget app specifically designed to do this task at the press of a button, that actually does what it says on the tin, would be great.

I think it might be out there somewhere - I just can’t see it (pun intended). A hit and miss App Store search engine that does not return correct results doesn’t help matters either.

All tips and steers most very warmly welcomed.

Yours gratefully,

Jock MacAdam
