With Monterey, apps from Office 365 "File-Share-Send as PDF" has stopped working.

Picking up on a months old thread that's now closed - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253321889 , the issue is exactly as the title says.

Office 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint etc.) fail to do anything when asked to "File > Share > Send as PDF". All that happens is that the app + Monterey makes a little "pop" sound as it fails to launch the email ...

I was on Monterey 12.2, but as of today, 12.2.1 and the issue remains. The machine is an Intel iMac 2017.

Everything is freshly installed, rebooted yada, yada.

It's working for me and I just updated to 12.2.1 but it worked previously as well. It launches my default email App which in this test case happens to be Apple Mail.

Perhaps it's a problem with whatever your is set as your default email application.

In Apple Mail -> Preferences -> General you can adjust the Default email reader.

If you want Outlook to be the default, it should be listed in the Apple Mail list of choices.

It works for me with Monterey 12.2.1 and Microsoft 365 Word 16.57. on a 2020 Intel MacBook Pro. Sweet! Cheers James, **** Microsoft installer (or something) had inserted Microsoft Edge browser as my default email handler .. arghh! This is not something I ever change, as I need Apple Mail as my default app.

Ah you must have logged into your Outlook email on 365's web interface and it asked if you wanted to make the web email the default. It may also ask about sending notifications.
