Airdrop Freezes - No fix yet

I have had this issue for a while, and after researching it seems to be an issue with the newer Operating Systems and even on the new M1 Macbooks. I have a 2017 15" MacBook Pro and when I go to airdrop, the window freezes and I have to force quit finder every time. After that, it works right away but then an hour later I have to do the same thing. It has been a good 6 months with this issue and it's quite annoying that it hasn't been fixed yet, even though there have been many complaints about it.
