YouTube not any more in AppleTv box grid

Since a couple of days, YouTube does not appear any more on the grid. As I bought the box (ok, old model) to watch Netflix, You Tube and Apple Tv, I find taking away YT possibility is a great loss. Until now, no explanation, no compensation.

I've got an AppleTV4K (1st gen) and the YouTube app's present and working well.

I'm guessing you've got the ATV 3rd-gen model... https://9to5mac.com/2021/03/04/youtube-no-longer-works-on-third-gen-apple-tv-here-are-your-options/. Not sure why an old version of the app disappeared on you.

Yeah... obsolesence happens so quickly these days. In this case I gather it was actually YouTube's decision to drop support for your AppleTV device... Of course, YouTube's decision likely came out of a cost/benefit analysis stemming from the evolution of Apple's development tools (offering new features only for newer devices -- a natural thing).
