Monterey screen saver source gone

Since Monterey, the 'desktop pictures' as source for screen savers is gone. Only 'Colours' is available but who wants that, I loved it how the high quality apple pictures switched themselves, and now it's gone.

Anybody knows how to resolve this?

Oh no it's not photos.

I used to have a 'Desktop Pictures' folder under 'Default Collections' as an option, which nicely mixed all the mac original desktop pictures on my screen saver, and it's gone since Monterey. Now it's only 'Colours' left.

no no, what I miss is the default folder of all mac pics (not my personal photos). I found this, how it looked before (although, for me there was only one 'Desktop Pictures' instead of the list of 'Sierra', 'Catalina', etc.).

This is why I can't set the default pictures as a whole group to be interchanging screen savers. These folders containing them are now missing. There is only 'Colors' now.

I was able to Choose Folder and point to /System/Library/Desktop Pictures/ and that works. However since Solid Colors/ is a sub-folder within Desktop Pictures you will get those solid colors in the slideshow. Also Apple changed the file format on many of the Desktop picture files and some of them do not render in the screen saver. The file extension is .madesktop instead of .heic for the Hello wallpapers and the new Monterey purple valley.

You are better off creating a new folder and places the images you want in that folder then use Choose Folder and point to it in the Screen Saver settings.
