“(PayPal (undefined):)”

Trying to set up my sons child account for family sharing but it makes me confirm payment which triggers PayPal to text me a code. But the code never works. And on the iPhone side I get a “(PayPal (undefined):)”

Thanks for the information. In the article previously shared Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID, it doesn't list in the footnote "This payment method can’t be used for Family Sharing" for the PayPal options. However, to assist with the activation we'd recommend attempting to add the account from a computer or a different device.

Additionally, you can try temporarily turning off two step verification for your PayPal account, adding the Apple ID and then securing your account with the feature again. PayPal Help Centre - Two-factor authentication

okay, i learned more about this issue.

Somewhere I read Apple doesn't allow PayPal as method of payment for a child's accoutn being added to the family sharing

But when trying to delete paypal as the main source, it doesn't let me (which I googled that this happens when you have current subscriptions already in place with paypal as source of payment. So I truly believe I have found a legit bug in the system

steps to reproduce

Try to add a child account to family sharing (son already HAS apple ID)
It then says click next to have PayPal submit a code for confirmation
paypal submits code. code doesn't work
click try another method. it lets you input another card. but when inputting all the info perfectly (a dozen attempts), it doesn't let you save it and move forward. It also doesn't let you (oddly) choose from another apple wallet card saved there.
the only work around is to add child account to family sharing (as an adult not child). Not a valid option for me.

also cancelling my 12 subscriptions, and all of my family memebers subscriptions, AND to wait until the cancelation period has ended, to only then be able to eliminate paypal is also the Stupidest idea ever.
