APFS or mac os extended video editing

is there a performance increase with either APFS or mac os extended video editing? which is better for FCPX external drive editing?

APFS versions Are there different versions of APFS between Sierra, High Sierra and Mojave? I am opening PDFs in Acrobat Professional and while the speed of opening in Sierra an High Sierra is the same, in Mojave it is consistently about 5 seconds slower. Any ideas?

APFS for SSD. macOS Extended for spinning drives. APFS for any system drive, internal or external.
