My daughters xr got really hot last night for no reason, when she went to pick it up she said it felt so hot it could of burnt her. It switched off and now won’t come back on. We went through everything it says in the Apple site to turn it back on but still nothing

Based on what you posted, it may be possible that this iPhone's battery may be faulty. The iPhone should never get to the level where it could burn someone by touch.
At this point, I would strongly suggest that you make a Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to have them take a look and provide you with your options ... and, of course, stop using the phone until then.

Tap and please tell us what's the percentage shown in Settings>Battery>Battery Health>Maximum Capacity.
