Watching tv on a Secondary screen I-pad

I have my MacBook set up with the I-pad as a secondary screen but if I want to watch Netflix or even Apple TV it’s just a blank screen any ideas how I can get it to work cheers

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.2

Easiest to watch the Apple TV+ or Netflix directly. Or use SharePlay. Mirroring subscription media content tends to be blocked.
