Jack-19 How to rename startup disk

Almost there...

I think I should know how to do the following but I am so close to finishing, I don't dare try to do it on my own.

My old startup disk on my computer is named Macintoh HD.

My new startup disk on my computer is named Macintoh HD.

My Time Machine will not backup because of the same name.

How do I change the name of the old hard drive?

Thank you.

  1. Click the Finder icon to open a Finder window from the Dock.
  2. In the menu bar, click Go.
  3. In the Go menu, select Computer.
  4. Right-click on the hard disk you want to rename.
  5. In the menu that opens, click Get Info.
  6. In the Info window, type a new name.
