google chrome keeps crashing

hi, I am running Monterey 12.2.1, however this issue started before I updated the software. Google Chrome keeps crashing every time I open it, so quickly that I can't do any of the recommended troubleshooting like clearing the cache. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Chrome and it's still happening. Any ideas how I can repair this? Thank you :)

Since it's still crashing, I would suggest that you run an EtreCheck report, and optionally post it here if you need assistance with interpreting its results. EtreCheck is a diagnostics tool developed by a valued forum member that greatly aids in troubleshooting problematic Macs.

..mish.1982:

Should you choose/remove Chrome, there are different removal methods; such as uninstaller apps.

Perhaps first try & use, "Google Uninstall Chrome - Computer - Mac - Google Chrome Help"

To check for any residuals left over, use a 'delete app' suggested, from maker's reputable site, may do OK.

This, after looking through where pieces may have been left behind; manual method is fine, IF it got them.

Likely, you've been able to uninstall Google Chrome entirely; but some bits may have escaped.

If you just drag the Google Chrome apt the trash that does not completely uninstall it. Which might be the problem.https://nektony.com/how-to/uninstall-chrome-on-mac There will be files in the library folder for both the system and your home library folder. Anything that says google . Mostly in application support and preferences folder. if you can completely uninstall then reinstall it should work. But I have to tell you Google Chrome is an energy hog. I prefer Safari and Firefox as second.

Hold Down the Shift Key:

Fist, hold down the shift key, and then click it to open the file. Kernels that are damaged are reset. So, see if that fixes this. I was having a similar issue with Mail on my Mac, and holding down the shift it key upon opening it fixed this issue.
