Macintosh HD - Data is taking up a HUGE amount of space, how can I access/delete/update?

As you can see on the image below the system says I have nearly 114gb of available space, however, in Disk Utility, it shows my "Macintosh HD - Data" is taking up 225gb, leaving only ~12gb of available space.

How can I access and deal with "Macintosh HD - Data"?

Thanks

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

Try something like OmniDiskSweeper for a GUI to get a good look at itemized file size and location:

I've done that, hence the 114gb of available space according to Storage. The issue is that deleting and moving files have not affected the amount of space used by "Macintosh HD - Data".

In one place (STORAGE) it shows I have 114gb of available space

In another (DISK UTILITY) it shows I have 12gb of available space

When I take action towards deleting apps, files, etc. it adds space to my STORAGE, but it doesn't become usable space as DISK UTILITY is still too full to do certain things (like update OS)

Disk Utility? Are you having some issue here...

If you are using iCloud Drive— try making some changes there.

From the Finder if you select Macintosh HD the Command i will open the info pane—here you can see
