My external camera is detected OK by my Mac Mini (running Monterey) but after a period the video stops working although the microphone still works. Same on all apps. It goes back to normal after I restart my Mac Mini. Any help to solve this gratefully received.
Check to see if the manufacture has information about the problem or offers upgraded software or firmware for the device.
check your energy saver options on the Mini to see if the outages coincide with any power management times.
failing all that try resetting the System Management Controller on the device if it's an Intel iMac. If it's an M1 the SMC is automatically reset whenever the device is powered on or restarted.
