In the Apple information about iCloud Drive (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201104) it says:
You can store files* in iCloud Drive as long as they're 50 GB or less in size
What does that mean?
All of my files, added up, can't be more than 50 GB, or each individual file has to be below 50 GB (that would be a whopper of a file above 50GB!)?
I have iCloud+ with 2 TB storage. My Documents folder is around 100GB. Can I use iCloud Drive?

When you right click on individual file , use get info the file size should not be more than 50GB , you have purchased a storage plan from apple for 2TB storage , it means the maximum limit for iCloud storage is 2TB in which you can store data for notes , mails , calendars ....see the article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/icloud/mm203ae070a2/icloud
Your iCloud storage for documents is 100 GB , click on finder > iCloud section > Documents right click over it and click on get info the size of documents will be shown it means the documents are consuming 100 GB storage space ( also you have stored various personal documents created with Microsoft office , including files these are combination of files + personal documents ) , however you have sufficient 2TB storage , of course you must and will be able to use iCloud Drive when iCloud Drive and desktops and documents box are always turned as on see the articles https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchle5a61431/10.14/mac/10.14

If you had many files say 100 , every file can't be of the same size , total all of them these files will well accommodate in your 2TB storage plan , in very short generally files size created by user is less , but apple has given a limit size .

is very odd. Who has a file over 50 GB in size?
It's not odd they have restricted the file size limit , its the choice of user to create a larger file size ( it all depends how they create a file and what is the size of the file to be uploaded ) .
If the average 90 minute film is around 1.5GB, then a 50GB is one-****-of-a-big file. So it seems strange for Apple to prominantly state no files over 50GB, when, my guess is, hardly anyone has a file over 50GB.
Okay, great the maximum file size, of an individual file, is 50GB. I doubt I have any files over 100mb, so that will be fine.
