Why is my macbook air no longer finding my monitor? Has the new OS got a bug which doesn’t allow the connection to my mac? It was connecting OK before I upgraded and now I can’t connect to my monitor!

Restart in Safe Mode and see if the monitor is detected. If not, try plugging the cable into a different port.
If still not detected, reset the SMC. See below.

Connect to Dell monitor working fine, but when I upgraded to 12.2.1 last night, after reboot, it CAN NOT finding my monitor,
Just reboot, no Monitor any more.
Is this a New Issue ? If Yes, what exactly changed on this computer ?

It’s a new issue. The only thing that changed was upgrading to the new monterey os 12.2.1
I thought the monitor gad died but my husband’s mac has the old os and had no problems connecting to my monitor.
And how exactly has that been determined ?
Perhaps some actual details of the Monitor, what type of Adapter is involved in making the connection from Laptop to Monitor and also the laptop.
The more details to above questions, the better the chances of possibly finding a solution

I thought it was the monitor but it looks like its the macbook air thats the problem. Any ideas why it would no longer find the device?
