Hi recently i have been having issues connecting to my vauxhall 2014 meriva via bluetooth. I can get it connected by turning wifi of and on on iphone but when i get a call the car says no phone connected. This seems to happen since a recent udate of phone software. The car is happy with a samsung phone so it seems to be an issue with the iphone

It is very possible the iPhone 12 update has updated the Bluetooth profile on the phone. Unfortunately, if the vehicle manufacturer has not updated their devices, that is not Apple's fault. They are provided the updates to ensure their devices will work with the latest software. You need to speak to the manufacturer to see if they have an update to their vehicle.
my car system was working fine until my iphone 12 had a software update which is what broke it. I tried contacting apple and repeatably get given the same set of instructions above. My car worked fine before the update it also works fine on my samsung. Seams apple have created the problem with the software update and are avoiding sorting it out. easiest and cheapest solution is sell phone buy samsung. Not happy with apple but thanks Chris any other ideas.
I have reset iphone 12 fully. I have fully reset the car system to fac defaults. Heither fixed the problem its like going back to the 90's when you connected a phone via a specally adapted cassette tape.
