Safari linking between iMac and iPad?

Just discovered that our iMac and one our iPads have a new "feature" in Safari. When a new tab is opened on one computer, either one, the Safari icon pops up in the other computer's dock with a little icon displayed in the upper right quadrant.

Would like to know how to make this not happen. Have checked settings on both machines and have not found a solution. Has anyone on here had this happen and figured out how to stop it?

Thank you,

Tim

Hello TBS2,

It sounds like you need help with disabling a feature on your iPad and Mac. We'll be happy to help out.

That feature is called Handoff and allows you to continue tasks that you start on one device on the other device. You can learn more about that feature as well as how to disable that here: Use Handoff to continue tasks on your other devices
